Dr. Margaret Watty is a family physician in Calgary, Alberta Canada. She was born on the island of Dominica in the West Indies before emigrating to Canada in 1976. Dr. Watty received her BSc (Chemistry) from the University of Lethbridge and her MD from the University of Alberta in 1985. In 1987, she completed her family medicine residency from the University of Calgary.
More recently she has helped develop and is a co-founder of HealthQ, a medical telephone app which was created to educate and empower its users to promote and improve health outcomes through accurate screening, early detection of disease and disease prevention.
In her spare time, Margaret enjoys cooking, travel, the arts and is an avid fitness enthusiast. Despite her many hats, Dr. Watty will state that she is first and foremost a mother, always striving to be the best role model that she can for her two adult daughters. Dr. Watty continues to practice family medicine in Calgary where she lives with her husband and daughters.
