Who Is It For?
Neuromodulators like BOTOX® are ideal for:
- Eliminating frown lines on the brow
- Smoothing forehead creases
- Softening lines around the mouth
- Minimizing crow’s feet
- Lifting drooping eyelids and brows
BOTOX® and other neuromodulator injections are also increasingly being used as a preventative therapy within a comprehensive skin care regime.
How Does It Work?
Neuromodulators are a drug made from a neurotoxin called botulinum. When it is injected into a treatment site it works to block nerve transmission to a targeted muscle group impairing the muscles ability to contract. A certified practitioner will be able to achieve your goals for smoother, tighter skin and the relaxation of the muscles will prevent new wrinkles from forming.
The Benefits of BOTOX®
- Non-invasive, non-surgical
- Immediate results, no recovery period
- Minimal side effects
- Lasting results
What to Expect
After a consultation with your practitioner, a typical BOTOX® appointment will last between 15-30 minutes depending on the number of areas targeted. BOTOX® is not painful, but if you are concerned about injections, a numbing cream can be used to desensitize the area. Immediately following treatment you may notice some very slight swelling or redness, but this usually resolves within a few minutes and most people choose to resume their regular activities right after the procedure. It usually takes about 3-5 days for BOTOX® to begin working and optimal results are typically apparent within about two weeks.
Most patients report that the effects of their treatment begin to slowly wear off after 3-4 weeks and this is an ideal time to schedule your next appointment to avoid the gradual appearance of your wrinkles and to keep your skin smooth and youthful looking.
